Global Online Academy

In 2023, The New School became a full member of the Global Online Academy consortium. Membership in GOA allows The New School to expand its curriculum beyond the walls of our classrooms by partnering with schools and teachers around the country and around the world. GOA gives member schools access to exceptionally skilled teachers, an international academic community, and an ever-expanding suite of adventurous courses.

GOA is an international consortium of over 140 member schools working to shape the future of online learning. Together, we reimagine education, renew it, and share it with the world.

GOA students get to know their teachers and classmates by using technology to build relationships. Each course is designed to be as intellectually rigorous as any course at a home school, and small classes contain students from many different schools, led by expert teachers.  Courses offer practical, hands-on experience in how ideas can be applied to the world outside of school. Students have a voice and a choice in the work they do and the ideas they explore.
